Meredith Thomas October 22, 2009 MUSC 110, Section 003 Concert Report 2 Vocal I attended a vocal performance featuring a junior vocalist from the University of South Carolina School of Music. Sara Elizabeth Shelton, a mezzo-soprano, was giving her junior recital in the partial fulfillment of the requirements for the Performance Certificate in Voice. The recital consisted of six works ranging from the Baroque Period to the Twentieth Century. Shelton’s recital was held in the Recital Hall in the University of South Carolina’s School of Music facility. The attire of the audience was more casual than a typical music recital, but this is most likely due to the fact that it consisted of mainly college students. The stage in the Recital Hall was empty with the exception of a piano. Shelton made her entrance from the left side of the stage followed by her accompanist, pianist Aimee Fincher. Along with Fincher was one other female who seated herself in a chair beside the piano to turn pages for the pianist.
