While others would commit a heinous crimeand the offender is sentence to capital punishment or the death penalty. Capitalpunishment is for those individuals who commits first degree murder which is defined asan “unlawful killing that is both willful and premeditated” (Thames, B., 2018, Sect 10.1).There are some people who were prosecuted and sentence to the death penalty for theirheinous crime they committed. Some names such as the infamous Ted Bundy andTimothy McVeigh are only a few who were convicted of capital punishment. But whatabout the individuals who were charged and due to the evolving technology such as DNAcould have changed an innocent person from being sentence to death who could havebeen innocent? There are those who tend to support capital punishment who believe thata punishment should fit a crime, and there are some crimes so heinous that the onlyappropriate punishment is death.
