ENGR 13100 – Fall 2010 HW 3 ENGR13100 - Homework #3 Answer Sheet Name: Rachel Pereira Section No. 005 Team No. 02 Date: 09/08/10 Problem 1 - School of IDE The last semester that a student could switch from ECE to IDE without effecting graduation date is at any semester including the last semester of college. The reason being is because all of the electives required for IDE could be the required classes taken for ECE. So if someone wanted to switch into IDE they would have all they’re elective classes already taken as well as the required classes because they match up. Problem 2 - School of ECE 1. Laptop a. b. computer engineering i. The reason that these two relate to a laptop is because communications and such relates to the internet. Computer engineering has to do with all the different aspects of computers. That relates to a laptop. 2. tv a. VLSI circuits and computer-aided design b. energy sources and systems i. These branches of ECE relate to TV because they have to be circuited. Also they have been made to be more energy efficient. 3. cell phone a. b. VLSI circuits and computer-aided design i. Cell phones have circuits so they relate to ECE in that way. Also because cell phones are becoming more and more advanced, they have to deal with networks and Internet too. 4.
