Picture 2 Current Conditions The current commuter system along with the layout of Purdue University has several problems. The aspects of the commuter system include the City Bus, bike paths, parking lots, sidewalks, the tunnels and State Street. Starting with city bus, some of the issues that go along with it are the human traffic on the bus. For example, the buses get very crowded during certain times of the day, like around two o’clock when classes get out. The reason that this needs to be addressed is because when winter comes, bikes and walking would no longer be a sufficient form of transportation. Limitations that go along with city bus are the budget that it has. According gocitybus.com, the annual budget for city bus is 10.1 million, which is spread over ten groups like wages. Another part that we need to consider is the fact that city bus is nonprofit and completely funded for by fares, federal, state and taxes. Other aspects of
