Advertising History This test is for people who are in the Elderly VCE The advertising goes back to the Christian era. One of the first known methods of outdoor advertising signs that are painted on the wall of a construction and were usually striking. Archaeologists have found signs of the ruins of ancient Rome and Pompeii, announcing to travelers going to a Tavern located in another city. In around 1440 there was a invention of a movable type of advertising that was a printing press. In the 16th century some companies had a brand that was a two-dimensional or three-dimensional image or sign. In both volume and technology, advertising has made its greatest advances in the U.S. In the early stages of the publication in the U.S. was very difficult and expensive National advertising because the U.S. not yet developed and there was little any means of transportation, distribution or communication. Over time certain type manufacturing the idea of going through wholesalers, retailers and through catalogs. Mail Order and pamphlets appeared around the 1870s. At the end of
