Ken's Four Extra Pay Checks Most of the time if the former employee continues to send paychecks to a laid off or terminated employee, it is because the human resource department had not properly processed the termination. This happens more often with larger companies where all business members will not know each other and where a large amount of documentation is required with most transactions. Although even small businesses can make mistakes predominantly happening in the payroll department since more payroll services are becoming modernly automated. In this case communication was faulty or slow in relaying the information of Ken’s dismissal to the corporate payroll office from human services. This error subsequently allowed to distribution of 4 more paychecks to be sent to Ken. Getting fired from a job can invoke some anger and frustration and even worry. Mostly likely Ken, knowing that he should have returned the checks he decided not to even when the company informed him of their mistake. The company has a
