Supporting a Position I am for Capital Punishment in the United States of America and I believe that it should continue to use it, and used countrywide. 35of the 50 states that make up the United States of America, have the death penalty, while the 15 remaining states have a ban on capital punishment. Some date the banishment as far back as 1846, like the State of Michigan (Wanger, 2002). Currently five types of execution are in existence, lethal injection, electrocution, gas chamber, hanging, and the firing squad (DPIC). Lethal injection is the most commonly used, stating that it is the most humane. It may be cited as the most humane form of execution, but that is not always the case, as in the case of Angel Diaz in Florida. To finalize his execution it took more than twice the normal amount of time, and it appeared that he suffered quite a bit during the process (Execution Rules). When lethal injection is used, the condemned is strapped to an execution table, two drip lines are placed, one in each arm. One drip line is used as the primary, and the other is a backup
