People who are Muslim are practicing a religion of Islam and do not live in any particular region. Arabs are people from a certain nationality or ethnicity. The United States have not implemented any particular policies in regards to the treatment of Muslim and Arab members of society. Their protections fall under hate crimes against their ethnicity or religion. Orientalism is a perspective through which Westerners view the East. It is the knowledge and understanding of languages, culture, and values. Orientalism and prejudice has contributed to hate crimes against Muslims and Arabs. Especially with the bombings of the Twin Towers on September 11 people who resemble and Arab or Muslim were facing bigotry. People who were born and raised here in

Having a community dinner and inviting people of many nationalities and religions. By having empathy for those around you. Understanding that you have not walked a mile in their shoes, and could never conceivably understand what they have gone through to get where they are now. By putting the past in the past and looking toward the future. It does not mean that you should excuse America’s indesgressions, but you should not make them your basis of any relationship that you may ever have....
