Andrew Walker Matthew Rambo Jenna Governale Ben Krause MARKETING PLAN Current Market Situation -The current market situation for automobiles is not stable. Rising gas prices now have people wanting to drive less. Purchasing a new car for some people is just out of the question due to the cost of insurance, registration, tags, gas, and monthly car payments. The cost of a 42-gallon barrel of oil is continuing to rise as well as the demand for the oil. Miles per gallon is very important today when purchasing a car because gas is getting too expensive for the middle class. The increase in demand for oil has made some car companies invent hybrid or battery powered vehicles. Although this is true, consumers have both positive and negative feelings about the new product. Certain cars do not stay “charged” as long as others. Many people still stick with the traditional gas powered car because it is reliable. Gas powered cars still have the market advantage because the hybrids and battery powered vehicles are still new to the market. Many consumers fear change and it is allowing the people who control the price of oil to manipulate the market. Threats and Opportunities
