Business Communication Career Preparation Project (CP) Objective:  This assignment is designed to help you obtain career information, enhance  your competence in interviewing, develop your writing skills, and strengthen your  presentation skills. Assignment Description:  You will conduct a 15- to 20-minute information-gathering  interview of a professional in your chosen career field.  The professional cannot  be someone you are related to. You will be the  interviewer. CAUTION:  You should  not  use this interview to seek employment or a promotion.  You  are simply seeking knowledge about a career you might be interested in.  Materials to submit : The written portion of the assignment consists of three documents and a presentation,  described below: 1. Interview Protocol Memo (CP1) In memo format, explain your interview strategy and who you plan on  interviewing.  Use the list of 20 questions (at the end of this document) as a  template for your interview protocol.  Take each question and make it more  specific to the industry, organization, and interviewee. Also, prepare some follow- up prompt questions for each primary question in case the interviewee doesn't  give you as much information as you need.   For IRB purposes, before conducting the actual interview, have your interviewee
