2 Cultural Differences CHARACTERS Tamika: 53-yr. old African American women, biracial, born and raised in the US, highly educated, office manager, and an effective communicator, Juan: a 46-yr. old Japanese male, born and raised in Japan and migrated to the US after the military highly educated, Project Manager, an effective communicator Marcelo: a 25-yr. old Mexican male, born in Mexico an immigrant, Mail Clerk, ineffective communicator Ju-Long: a 67-yr. old Chinese elderly boastful woman, Receptionist, ineffective communicator SCENE The team gathered in the conference room where the meeting was scheduled to organize the annual company picnic and are determined to use ethical decision making when working together. The office manager had all the linguistics ready with some ideas already in mind. TAMIKA: I HAVE PUT TOGETHER SOME SUGGESTIONS AND WOULD LIKE YOUR IMPUT. JU-LONG: WHO MADE YOU BOSS?
