2.04 Warm up Cool Down Part 1 1. The activity I will participate in is a 2 hour tennis session. 2. The warm up phase of my training program is important, because they reduce the risk of injury —gradually increasing the temperature of the muscles and joints and gradually stretching them makes them more pliable. This makes it less likely that injuries such as muscles strains and tears and ligament sprains will occur while participating in my more vigorous chosen activity. Also, the warm up phase of my training program gradually increase the heart rate which in turn increases blood flow, carrying additional oxygen to the muscles prior to vigorous activity, which also reduces the possibility of a sudden increase (spike) in blood pressure which could be dangerous for someone with already high blood pressure or someone with a heart defect or aneurysm, a weakened area in the wall of an artery. In competitive activities, the warm up also gives me time to focus on my thoughts and emotions about how I will perform.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
