The death penalty is the ultimate punishment. There is no harsher punishment than death itself. Currently fifty-eight nations practice the death penalty. The United States of America, is one of the fifty-eight nations that practice the death penalty. Currently the United States will only use the death penalty, if one commits first-degree murder. People that believe in the death penalty believe that capital punishment will discourage people from commiting murder. I believe that the death penalty is a wrong and unjust act and that the United States should outlaw the practice. The death penalty is an inhumane act that brings injustice to the states that still use this method of punishment. Some of the death penalty have ended really bad resulting to the criminal dying in pain for example a man was sentenced to death penalty but was given the wrong amount of dosage and ended up in pain for 20 minutes before dying. A lot of people who are also sentenced to the death penalty ended up innocent. Since 1977 to
