TITLE OF PAPER 2 Title of Paper This paper will define what meaningful use is and discuss the driving forces that support the need for standards in the healthcare world. An important goal of this paper is to provide an understanding in how meaningful use requires hospitals, providers, and nurses to meet specific objectives and deliver high quality patient care. This paper will explain the standards that must be met by hospitals and providers in order to qualify for financial incentives and reimbursement from Medicaid and Medicare. I will also share my own experiences as a registered nurse and discuss the ways that I access the EHR with meaningful use. Meaningful Use is defined as using of certified EHR technology in a meaningful way that ensures the certified EHR technology connects in a manner that provides for the electronic exchange of health information to improve the quality of care[ CITATION CDC19 \l 1033 ]. The term meaningful use is also known to be sets of specific objectives that must be met in order for the hospital or provider to be eligible for federal incentive payments [ CITATION Nel18 \l 1033 ]. The HITECH Act requires healthcare providers and hospitals to adopt certified EHRs and to report on specific measures, the ultimate goal is to change provider behavior and increase the electronic exchange of patient information [ CITATION Nel18 \l 1033 ].
