An important goal of this paper is to provide anunderstanding in how meaningful use requires hospitals, providers, and nurses to meet specificobjectives and deliver high quality patient care. This paper will explain the standards that mustbe met by hospitals and providers in order to qualify for financial incentives and reimbursementfrom Medicaid and Medicare. I will also share my own experiences as a registered nurse anddiscuss the ways that I access the EHR with meaningful use.Meaningful Use is defined as using of certified EHR technology in a meaningful way thatensures the certified EHR technology connects in a manner that provides for the electronicexchange of health information to improve the quality of care[ CITATION CDC19 \l 1033 ]. Theterm meaningful use is also known to be sets of specific objectives that must be met in order forthe hospital or provider to be eligible for federal incentive payments [ CITATION Nel18 \l1033 ].
