Article Summary This article shows that all types of labor family conflicts and job satisfaction are connected to one another in a negative way. In terms of both job satisfaction and life satisfaction, directionality seems to make a difference: tension between family and work seems to be less strongly linked than conflict between work and family. The strength of the relationship between work–life satisfaction, with a stronger relationship for women, revealed slight gender differences. Nevertheless, the confidence intervals around our figures are extremely wide and vary because of the wide variation in the findings published, which makes it difficult for us to draw definitive conclusions.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
