2 The Construction of “Life” from DNA. Scientists have now proven that DNA carries/determines the “traits” or “genes” that become the physical and chemical operative parts of “Life”. How does DNA produce the physical and chemical operative parts of “Life”.

3 Protein Synthesis The physical and chemical operative parts of “Life” are made of protein : Enzymes control metabolism – chemical reactions necessary for life. Proteins provide structure – collagen, muscle.

4 How does DNA produce protein? DNA is located in the nucleus. Protein is manufactured by the ribosomes located on the endoplasmic reticulum in the cytoplasm. The important section/sequence of DNA is read/copied within the nucleus ( Transcription ). The copied sequence is transported to the ribosomes and “ Translated ” into the finished product – protein . Protein Synthesis” consists of “Transcription” and then “Translation”.
