Slide1 If we compare, the concten t od this term was absolutely different in pasts from the nowaday’s meaning. For instance : In the 13th century, the word “novation” appeared in legal texts as a term for renewing a contract. So “novation” means new, as in a new version of a contract. It also was derogatory term like In the 16th-century religious environment, it gathered negative associations thrown at people who sought to rewrite religious texts. Innovators were jailed and even put to death. With the Industrial Revolution, the idea of innovation became associated with science, the invention of new machines and products In 1939 the influential economist Joseph Schumpeter, arguably the originator of the concepts that led to what we now call “entrepreneurship,” introduced an important distinction. Invention, he argued, was the creation of something new (e.g., a new product), while innovation related to the adoption of that new thing (e.g., the bringing of a new product to market). Slide 2 The concept of organizational innovation refers to a mechanism utilized by organizations to adapt to dynamic conditions of technological advancement, competition, and market expansion by creating unique products, systems, and techniques. Therefore, it can be defined as an organization’s ability to transform ideas and knowledge into new services, processes, or products regularly for the benefit of its stakeholders And also its important to successfully introduce it to the market Slide 3 Two primary perspectives of innovations in organizations were introduced in the 20th century. The first perspective focused mainly on the generation of new commercialized, technology-based products and processes to improve efficiency and productivity, increase market share and profitability and to generate economic wealth for their owners. second perspective was introduced in sociology and flourished in organization management in the second half of the 20th century.

Slide 4 There are many sources you can use to help generate new ideas for the business. Suppliers, business partners and business network contacts can all make valuable contributions to the creative process, as well as providing support and encouragement. Your employees are also a vital asset in generating innovative ideas. To get the most from them, you need to create an innovative environment, the culture and encourage creative thinking.
