ESL 102R Week Eight Comparing and Contrasting Distance Education Courses to On-Campus Courses Universities today offer learners many options for taking courses such as being a student on  campus or studying a course online from home. While both distance education (DE) and on-campus  courses provide students with the needed credits, a distinction can be drawn between the courses in  terms of teacher-student and peer-to-peer dynamics. Online education is a growing educational  platform, and many part-time students turn to it for the convenience of ‘any-time’ learning. Due  to being online, students may feel disadvantaged as their chances to communicate with their  professors face-to-face are reduced to mere email or online chat discussions.  Furthermore, feedback  is often a grade for marked assignments or exams as there is no interactive feedback from the  professor, and students have to rely on reflection and self-analysis in order to interpret marks.
