Informative Speech Outline I. Introduction a) How many of you guys have stayed up late cramming for a test this year? b) How many of you guys have wasted hours on Facebook wishing you had a way to focus on studying for your test the next day? c) Cramming and all-nighters is part of the typical college experience. i) Something that is also starting to become a part of this experience is the use of study drugs. d) Although drugs such as Adderall are viewed as harmless drugs that enhance concentration in academics, many students are not aware of the risks associated with taking this drug. II. Body a) How students use Adderall (Illegal) i) According to a news report on CBS, 60% of college students admit to using study drugs in order to get an edge on their classmates. (CBS, 2010) ii) An article by Brooke Daley of the Daily Pennsylvanian newspaper shows that researchers say drugs like Adderall are generally prescribed for attention-deficit disorder and are increasingly being used by college students to help them study despite serious side effects. (Daley, 2004)
