Homework Assignments 12 and 13 – Due Friday, July 1. Assignment 12: 1. Design a 4-to-16 decoder circuit, using only 74138 modules and no additional gates or inverters. Use the “logic symbol” for the 74138 in your drawing (Figure 4.8(d); do not draw the gate-level circuit of the 74138 of Figure 4.8(a). The 4-to-16 decoder inputs are to be active-high and the outputs are to be active-low (as they are on the 74138). 2. Design a 5-to-32 decoder circuit, using only 3-to-8 decoder modules and no additional gates or inverters. The 3-to-8 decoder modules each have a single enable input, E. Assume all module inputs and outputs to be active-high signals. 3. Implement the following functions with a single 74154 4-to-16 decoder and three additional gates.
