COURSE DESCRIPTION This is intended to be a practically oriented course. It covers plans for managing personal financial problems involving insurance, housing, household budgeting, investments, personal and bank loans, personal credit, and the time value of money. The use of a financial calculator is introduced. REQUIRED TEXTBOOK Kapoor, Dlabay, Hughes: Focus on Personal Finance (3/e) McGraw/Hill-Irwin, 2010. REQUIRED SUPPLEMENTARY MATERIALS: Handout materials as needed A basic financial calculator is required. Recommended models are either the HP- 10BII from Hewlett-Packard or the TI BA-II+ from Texas Instruments. The campus bookstore should carry both. If you want a more advanced model, either
