CALCULUS I – MAC 2311 – FALL 2007 Instructor: Barry Griffiths E-mail: [email protected] Class Time : TR 9:30 – 11:20am Class Location : MAP 405 Office: MAP 115 Textbook: Calculus (fifth edition), by Stewart (available in the bookstore) Quizzes: A short quiz will be given during twelve of the lectures. They will be of a similar standard to the homework questions at the end of each section in the book, and will contribute 20% of your final grade. Exams: There will be four midterm exams worth 100 points each, and a comprehensive final exam worth 100 points. They will contribute 80% towards your final grade. Note: Two points will be deducted any time you fail to pick up graded work. Seven points will be deducted from the next exam of anyone leaving a lecture early. Grade Policy: The course grade is determined by the taking the top three scores from the four midterm exams, plus the final exam and the quizzes. Final grade assignment will generally follow the standard scale: A : 90-100% B : 80-89% C : 70-79% F : 0-69%
