DIFFERENTIAL EQUATIONS – MAP 2302 – SPRING 2008 Instructor: Barry Griffiths Office Location: MAP 115 E-mail: bgriffit@mail.ucf.edu Class Time and Location : TR 4:30 – 5:45pm, MAP 108 Textbook: A First Course in Differential Equations (classic fifth edition), by Zill (available in the bookstore) Quizzes: A short quiz will be given during eight of the lectures. They will be of a similar standard to the homework questions assigned. (At least one unannounced quiz will also be given) Homework: Homework assignments will be given during each lecture, and will be used as the basis for the quizzes. Exams: There will be two midterm exams and a comprehensive final exam. Calculators: Calculators may not be used during the exams and quizzes. Grade Policy: The three exams and the quizzes will each contribute 25% towards your final grade. Grades will generally be awarded according to the following scale: A : 90-100% B : 80-89% C : 70-79% D : 60-69% F : 0-59% Attendance: It is essential that you attend all lectures.
