Established in 1996, The National Alliance for Caregiving is a non-proFt coalition of national organizations focusing on issues of family caregiving. Alliance members include grassroots organizations, professional associations, service organizations, disease-speciFc organizations, a government agency, and corporations. The Alliance was created to conduct research, do policy analysis, develop national programs, increase public awareness of family caregiving issues, work to strengthen state and local caregiving coalitions, and represent the US caregiving community inter- nationally. Recognizing that family caregivers provide important societal and Fnancial contributions toward maintaining the well-being of those they care for, the Alliance’s mission is to be the objective national resource on family caregiving with the goal of improving the quality of life for families and care recipients. AARP is a nonproFt, nonpartisan membership organization that helps people 50+ have independence, choice and control in ways that are beneFcial and affordable to them and society as a whole. AARP does not endorse candidates for public ofFce or make contributions to either political campaigns or candidates. We produce AARP The Maga- zine, the deFnitive voice for 50+ Americans and the world’s largest-circulation maga- zine with over 35.5 million readers; AARP Bulletin, the go-to news source for AARP’s 40 million members and Americans 50+; AARP Segunda Juventud, the only bilingual U.S. publication dedicated exclusively to the 50+ Hispanic community; and our website, AARP.org. AARP ¡oundation is an afFliated charity that provides security, protection, and empowerment to older persons in need with support from thousands of volunteers, donors, and sponsors. We have staffed ofFces in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
