Unformatted text preview: HLTH 4523 Health & Aging Group Project Assignment Description Students (4 maximum) and elders will work in groups to create a garden bed at the YMCA Youth Garden and to disseminate information about the crop to be grown in your assigned bed. Major Project Components Formation of Group: o Students may choose other student group members. A list of requested group members should be submitted to Dr. Powers by email by February 23 rd o Your elder group members will be assigned by Dr. Powers. Bed Construction o Each group will be assigned to construct one bed at the community garden. o Groups will also create a sign indicating which crops are to be grown in the bed. o Construction will take place on Saturday, March 26th . Students are required to be present for construction day. Students not present on this date will receive a grade of ZERO for the group project. You should make arrangements with work and classes now. If you have a valid conflict with this date, you must speak with Dr. Powers to make arrangements by Monday, February 28 th . KHS Symposium Poster o Each group will create and present a poster at the KHS Symposium outlining the project. Your poster should have the following three components: 1. Overview of the crop that will be planted in your assigned bed. The overview may include the following, depending on your assigned bed: Expected planting dates Watering/care schedule...
