Thomas Lennemann History 5012 German Military History Dr. Antonio S. Thompson I recently watched a documentary on Pat Tillman, the American football player  who turned down a multi-million dollar contract to enlist in the army following the  September 11 th  attacks.  The film revolved around the initial reports of heroic actions by  Tillman prior to his death, and the subsequent fact finding that brought the truth of his  death (by friendly-fire) to light.     It was interesting to see all the evidence that was  collected for a single casualty.  In contrast, the book  Absolute Destruction  by Isabel Hull  attempts to piece together the actions of Imperialist Germany in Western Africa using  journals, letters, and official transcripts.  Although there are significant gaps in her  research, Hull attempts to fill in the blanks with her educated analysis.   Absolute Destruction  began as the Germans were having difficulty with the  natives of their Southwest African colony in 1904.  The local Herero tribe was attacking  the unprotected settlers as the army was in another section of the country.  The German

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
