Steven Paul 07/25/2011 How to Eat Well On a Budget Eating well can be challenging for any family, but for a family on a limited income, it’s even more difficult. And given our current economic climate, more and more families are having a harder time putting food on the table but with a little planning, you don’t have to spend a bundle on nutritious food. So here are some money saving tips to plan nutritious meals for you and your family. Plan ahead. Plan your meals for the week and make a grocery list based on your plan. Make a habit of just buying what’s on your list. Having a plan and a list can keep you from buying pricier, less nutritious foods on impulse. (1) Remember to check for grocery store specials when making your meal plans and grocery list. And never go shopping on an empty stomach; make sure you shop after a meal, or a light snack to help you resist temptation. Consider no-name brands. No-name brands are often exactly the same product as the name brands, but for less money. Compare nutrition labels and ingredient
