After watching the movie Elephant directed by Gus Van Sant, I picked up on a lot of the unique aspects of this film that I did not originally expect. For starters, almost of the movie was shot without music and just with sound. This enhanced the film because it made everything seem more realistic, the people, the settings, and the movie overall. Besides the lack of a soundtrack, there were many others unique aspects involved with this film. Throughout the film, the camera was behind the character it was following at that moment, and this created a unique cinematic experience. This shot is very similar to many video games, and creates an interactive view for the viewers. By showing us the characters along with the characters interactions, it allows us to pick up on the many details going on throughout the day. It also allows us to realize when time is overlapping between two characters stories. The most controversial scene in the movie Elephant in my opinion featured the
