Alex Marcantonio Graphically, the timeline presented on PBS is much more aesthetically appealing and seems much more accurate at first glance. After comparing the timelines overall, it seems that the Oakton timeline has more complete coverage. In describing specific events the timeline on Oakton is much less descriptive. The timeline on PBS is more specific and does a better job of describing what happened. For example, when describing the beginning of the fighting during the Vietnam War, PBS goes way beyond and above Oakton’s timeline. Oakton’s timeline merely states that the fighting has begun in 1965. PBS describes the specific date of the first event occurring in the fighting, and how many lives were taken. It also has a very defining picture next to the description of the event, which makes the event seem more real. Also PBS has a much more concentrated timeline, focusing on specific time periods more often then the Oakton timeline. When comparing timeline’s in 1965, PBS timeline records 13 important events
