UGC 111 Recitation Paper The principle results of war and conquest for the Mongols as it pertains to technology is their development of a archaic gun like design. I think this is a huge find for the Mongols because they were one of the first civilizations to have it. This was definitely influenced by the fact that they were located very close to the Chinese. The Chinese as we know were the first to develop gunpowder. I think because the Mongols were in constant conflict with the Chinese allowed for the assimilation of people. Leading to a spread of technology, because of the wars the Mongols were able to also acquire many more ideas from the Chinese. They are one of the empires credited with the invention of the gun. This, I think is very important because it lays out a whole new style of warfare, and often gives a huge technological advance for countries that have it when battling countries that do not have it.
