What are the major physical geographical factors that enhanced the establishment of an agricultural core in North America? The major geographical features that enhanced the establishment of an agricultural core were climate, relief, soils, and waterways. The climate in this region is good for extended growing seasons. The low relief is adequate for using farming machinery. The soils in this area are highly fertile and are of excellent quality for growing a variety of crops. The natural waterways, such as the Mississippi, Ohio, Missouri, and other rivers give the area a natural way to ship crops at a low expense. Chapter 11, Review Question #2 (page 228).
