Lab X: Biotechnology Exploration Informal Lab Report Biology 115 Lab Section 03 Sara Martinson Part One 1. We are using Cheetos and Mr. Miller’s corn to test for the presence of GM crops. 2. In this experiment we use a series of controls to compare the unknown crops against known GM crops. We use a non-genetically modified organism and a known genetically modified plant to compare our two unknown plants to in order to see where the similarities and differences lie. 3. 1) yes, we’ve been eating the genetically modified plants for a long time already and have yet to see one that is really detrimental to society 2) no, we’ve already seen the spread of disease causing bacteria able to withstand our antibiotics and adding different variations of plants will only further the amount of bacteria that can withstand it 3)yes, growers can avoid major losses due to pests and bring produce to market at a much lower price 4) no, they have found that some of the Gm crops have adverse affects on
