Mountains to Mountains Bio Lab 115 Section 03 Lab 1: Introduction to Laboratory Sara Martinson Mountains to Mountains 1. Small sickly children on the road begging for food Captain Carroll who was tall, tanned and muscular with a big wad of chew in his mouth arguing with Dr. Farmer who was delicate looking with black hair, high waist and thin arms The room in which Dr. Farmer first treated people in was a small grubby church rectory in the wasteland of central Haiti Viewing a person lying on a table in Boston with their chest being cracked open or organs being transplanted 4 wheel pickup traveling down a two lane paved road but eventually reaching the foot of a wall of mountains and the road turning into a dry riverbed, as the truck rolled up the mountain you could look over the edge and see what appeared to be a bone yard for pick-up trucks An extremely sickly 13 year old girl lying in a bed crying out loud in the middle of the night moaning and screaming but in the midst of getting a spinal tap crying only about being hungry 2. Farmer’s view means that you must always try your hardest and give your best to help those in desperate need around you. Farmer is trying to do something most people don’t even waste their time thinking about – helping those less fortunate. The soldiers however, view their presence in Haiti as stupid and pointless, as though they weren’t even doing anything to help. They went though it half-heartedly.
