Anxiety, Mood/Affective, Dissociative/Somatoform Matrix 1 Disorder Description/Defini tion Classification Anxiety Exaggerated fear of unwanted disruptions of life or routine. Components of anxiety take various form to include: rapid heart rate, nervosa, and inability to concentrate. This disorder affects a person’s life in social, familiar, and occupational aspects. Generalized anxiety disorder: Six consecutive months of frequent and exuberant anxiety Panic disorder: panic or anxiety attacks Phobias: nonsensical anxiety of events, scenarios, or things Obsessive-compulsive disorder: erratic behavior involving compulsion of a specific, or collection, of actions being repeated constantly Posttraumatic stress disorder: crippling fears following a life- altering event Mood/ Affective Persistent emotional state creating a disturbance in an individual’s demeanor.
