Four lids are randomly selected (without replacement) and are carefully inspected fol- lowing a cut down. (b) A pallet of 12 castings is known to contain two defective and ten good units. Three castings are randomly selected (without replacement) and inspected. 2. Consider a universal set consisting of the integers 1 through 9, or U = { 1 , 2 , 3 , 4 , 5 , 6 , 7 , 8 , 9 } . Let A = { 1 , 2 , 3 , 4 , 7 } , B = { 2 , 6 } and C = { 2 , 7 } . By enumeration, list the membership of the following sets. (a) A B . (b) A B . (c) A B . (d) A ( B C ) . (e) A ( B C ) .
