The Lexington, KY Police department is ran and operated much differently than Louisville Metro Police Department in few ways. First, the Lexington Police Department is a smaller police department with most of its force managed by the Bureau of Operations, whereas in Louisville Metro Police Department the majority of its force is managed by the Patrol Bureau which has eight Divisions. The Lexington Police Special Operations Division falls under the Bureau or Operations as well, but the Special Operations Division of Louisville Metro Police falls under the Support Bureau.

Unformatted text preview: Both Police Departments are great Police departments in the State of Kentucky, both have many difference than the other. These two departments’ internal organization components are setup very differently, but surprisingly work very well for each, but I do not believe if the organizational structures were switched that it would work. I believe that every police department has some different internal organization components that only work for that department and that every police department’s needs are different....
