UNIT 3 DB by Jaycen Swedeen The competitive environment is when a company is trying to keep up with what their competitors are doing. This can include productivity, pricing, employment and many other aspects of what the competition is doing. The economic environment is effected by what the economy is doing. For example gas prices, it seems to me when the economy is at a low the gas prices go up and vice versa. The political-legal environment is composed of laws that can create new opportunities for businesses. For example, mandatory recycling laws have given the recycling industry a major boost and spurred the creation of dozens of new companies making new products from recycled materials. Just as a law can create opportunities as this one it can also make it difficult for business opportunities. Technological environment is an important key to growth in these times. For example facebook is a social network that has attracted millions of people, however Google is working on a project called Google + which is similar to facebook, but is to be more in depth. This can also include sociocultural environment. The demographic environment that includes population and growth rates, age and sex profiles, family lifecycle stages, occupation patterns, levels of education, actuarial health and morbidity projections, etc. This can help business determine new products to fit the demographics of their area. The natural environment involves natural resources that are needed as inputs by marketers or that are affected by marketing activities. Areas affected by hurricanes and tornados are probably the most affected by the output of these storms which can cause higher prices such as fuel....
