This word, by itself, simply means "with oxygen," but it comes alive when used as an adjective to describe exercise. Aerobic exercise is exercise that is vigorous enough, lasts long enough and is done regularly enough to keep the heart and lungs in good shape. Aerobic exercises burn fat faster than any other type of exercise.

AEROBIC EXERCISE Aerobic exercise is defined as exercise that primarily uses the aerobic engine to produce energy. Aerobic exercise is typically achieved through any activity that is of long enough duration and intensity that it requires energy production through this system. Brisk walking or light jogging and more intense forms of exercise performed for more than ten minutes are examples of aerobic activities.

DETERMINANTS OF AEROBIC EXERCISE PROGRAM Aerobic exercise program must be tailored to meet the specific training goals in consideration of baseline fitness level. Aerobic exercise is achieved by performing an activity with enough intensity and duration to increase energy demand in muscles to the level that requires energy production by the engine that uses oxygen. Frequency, Intensity and Time (duration) or known as FIT, are the three determinants. How many times per week working out is done?

These determinants will establish the overall effectiveness in exercise program. By assessing the exercise intensity, duration, and frequency, a person can determine the approximate caloric expenditure and performance level or work capacity. DETERMINANTS OF AEROBIC EXERCISE PROGRAM (CON’T…)

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
