LIABLE AND ETHICS 2 LIABLE AND ETHICS 1. What did Bidder's Edge do that was different from eBay's normal customers? Why does it matter to eBay? Bidder’s edge does what they call an automated search for items on a web site. The normal customer’s searches using the websites search engine which they have to input the data a little at a time as not to over load the server. Bidders Edge systems uses a multiple data criteria or robot for it searches, it can look for a lot of things at the same time. EBay is a very popular site millions if not billions of people look in to EBay each day. If they were to let every company do what bidder’s edge, does all of the searches that are done would probably freeze or fry the servers that they use. The normal customer would not have a chance at the products on the web site. The automated searches would find it first send it to a subscriber before anybody else would or could see it.
