1 Comparison of Various Media Outlets Reporting on Trump’s Governance in the United States By Student’s Name Course + Code Class Institution Date
2 Comparison of Various Media Outlets Reporting on Trump’s Governance in the United States Americans have had mixed reactions concerning Trump’s administration. As such, varying viewpoints have been asserted where some have heaped praise on the administration, while some have criticized Trump’s administration in comparison to his predecessor, Barack Obama. In this view point, there have been dissimilar expressions on the same as alluded from various media outlets with some aligning to the administration, and some criticizing. As such, this paper compares three global media outlets, the New York Times, Fox News, and Reuters, reporting on Trump’s administration performance in the United States of America. Corpus Having chosen the topic above, I had to develop a set of questions that would act as guidelines in a bid of developing the scope of this paper, which hovers around the public perception of Trump’s administration as influenced by media outlets. In this trudge, one of the questions that I hoped to answer is, “What is the main coverage of the media outlets highlighted with respect to Trump’s administration?” Also, there was the question, “how reliable are these media sources when it comes to reporting about Trump’s administration?” Further on, the previous question also adds on a question that seeks to know, “Are the media outlets under scope biased?’ The reason I chose the three media houses, The New York Times, Fox News, and Reuters is given by the raging debacle that has existed where they have been deemed as alternative and independent media sources. Also, these media houses have in the same measure been attributed to either leaning left, or leaning right. Lean left media sources are media outlets that have been poised to being biased against the Trump administration, citing that it is made up of liberals. On
3 the other hand, lean right media sources are media outlets that have been poised to being biased against liberals, or in support of the Trump administration, mainly it is made up of conservatives or democrats. In the light of answering some of the questions poised above, it is appropriate to fact check on the media bias associated with the media houses highlighted above. The New York Times has in the past been associated to being a moderately lean left media organization. Fox News has on the other hand been accused of being an extreme lean right media organization, with some even quoting it to be a “Trump manufactured media outlet”. Reuters, on the other hand, has been characterized as a center media outlet, owing to its categorical neutral viewpoints on political stance in the United States. Therefore in succinct, The New York Times is a moderate lean left, Fox News is an extreme lean right, and Reuters is a center media outled.
