Practice Problems Genetics Action Center 8/30/11, 9/1/11 1. Three women walk into a hat store. They notice 5 hats on a table, three red and two green. They take three seats set in a row, such that woman #1 can see both woman #2 and woman #3; woman #2 can see only woman #3, and woman #3 can’t see either of the other women. The proprietress of the shop now places a hat on each of the women’s heads. She asks woman #1 if she knows the color of the hat she is wearing, and she answers ‘no’. She then asks woman #2 if she knows what color hat she is wearing, and she answers, ‘no’. She finally asks woman #3 if she knows the color of her hat…the woman answers ‘yes’, and correctly identifies the color. What color hat was she wearing, and how did she figure it out? 2. The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
