Young people, elders Blacks and latinos most likely to be in poverty. Black youth. Rural areas tend to be in the south. Urban areas, inner cities. Sometimes see poverty in suburds. Women most likely to be in poverty. Charging stuff for women more. Useful for some people, people who are not poor. Having stuff done for us that we dont want to do. Poverty bad good for society. Paying for economic activity. Funding the government. Poor people are paying more share of their taxes. Poor people serve as a market. Show who not to be. Living vicariously by someone. We might want to engage in prostitution, so we watch poor people engage in prostitution. Poor people do bad things we cant do because were good people. Were going to enjoy it without even doing it. Blues and jazz use to be poor people music. We take those forms and embrace them. Using poor people to get ideas from them. Culture. Poor people on the bottom and you can figure out where you are economically. Selling it to them for higher prices, we get more profit. We move up. Not only can we sell stuff, but we can hire them and pay them less. We make more money. Affects middle class and higher class. Rich people love charity. Makes the aristocracy look good. Deflect criticism of them. Prices go up when milk and break goes up. Big deal for poor people. Neighborhoods. Putting highways around poor areas. Now they have to get a car. The poor are the ones that absorb the cost. Trying to make society better, but the poor are the ones that suffer. Tendency, democrats and republics, poor people usually vote democratic. Democrats might take them for granted. Use them when the election comes. Talks about laizzee fair economics. Aristocracy. What you need to be to be successful. Visual example of this idea that capitalism works. They were poor too, not they are rich. The American dream is possible. If youre not voting, you will get less attention. Poor person robs jewelry store. If a CEO steals it is a regulatory manner; finedless likely to serve time. Less likely to serve time. If they do serve time, it is less. Placed on house arrest, but they can stay home. They have lawyers that have influence to compel the judges to do that. AgeGo to college less likely.
