It is essential that you include those supporting materials and important that you cite them to add credibility to your points. This sheet tells you how to cite quoted material and what not to do—plagiarism. On a speech about smoking you locate the following passage from an article by Gita M. Smith in the Atlanta Constitution (September 10, 1998) or on a web site: http://www.junkscience.org/sep98/ackoop.html . The quote about former Surgeon General Everett Koop says: Tobacco leads his list of unresolved health problems that the United States will carry into the 21st century.
