ANS 301M: Introduction to Korean Culture and History Fall 2006 Week 2 Key Concepts Issues in ancient history Key Terms: (Old) Chosôn, -no written records from this period. Ancient Korean kingdom. Tangun ruled. “Non- Korean” account from Chinese history and older Korean dynasties. Information came after 1000 years past the end of Old Choson, so not very accurate. First ruler of the Old Choson. -Kija, a Chinese general who came over to the Korean Peninsula. Replaces the history of Tangun Choson. However, Samguk Yusa suggests that Kija co-existed with Old Choson, so it has been rejected by some Historians. Three kingdoms,
