Eric Hammer Eden Username: ehamm05 Extra Credit – Option 2: See a play or a movie … (1 point) The assignment was to see a play or a movie, and then write about connections I was able to make to the play/movie regarding various communication theories. I recently saw a Broadway play in New York City called Billy Elliot. Taking place during the United Kingdom miners’ strike in the mid 1980s, a young boy, Billy Elliot, stumbles upon his unknown skill in dance and his aspirations to become a ballet dancer. Now before I continue, I would like to add that I do not directly relate to this; I have no desire to be a professional ballet dancer. There were so many forms of communication in this play, and as we discussed in class, there are so many forms of communication. There are the basics, of course, such as talking and hand signals of course, but they play was more complex than that. Being that it was a musical, the actors communicated with one another and to the audience through song and dance. But it was more than just singing and dancing for the simple purpose of singing and dancing.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
