Unformatted text preview: EML2023 Homework 9 GDT Description Model Answers DATUM PLANES: A is the primary datum plane and the datum feature corresponding to it is the face pointed to by the arrow. A flatness tolerance of 0.5mm is specified on this datum feature (face). This is a form tolerance which means that all points on that plane must lie between two perfectly flat planes separated by a distance of 0.5 B is the secondary datum plane and it is perpendicular to datum plane A. The face pointed to by this feature control frame must be perpendicular to A within a tolerance of 0.5mm. This means that all the points on this face must lie between two planes perfectly perpendicular to A and separated by a distance of 0.5mm. C is defined as the tertiary datum plane and it is perpendicular to both datum planes A and B. The face (datum feature) pointed to by this feature control frame must be perpendicular to A and B within a tolerance of 0.5mm. This means that all the points on this face must lie between two planes perfectly tolerance of 0....
