Rolando Hernandez 03/08/10 Phil- Ethics 201 Prof. Sosa Mary Anne Warren What: Mary Anne Warren argues for abortion: “A woman has the right to rid herself of an unwanted fetus that, not yet a person, does not have a person’s right to life” (Abelson 237). Infanticide is morally permissible. Victimizes women. Depicts females as innocent bystanders that have no fault in getting pregnant, when in reality, in most cases, both parties are aware of their actions and the consequences of those actions. Two separate questions: 1. Whether abortion ought to be prohibited apart from the question of 2. Whether or not the fetus is human. Central traits to the concept of personhood: Consciousness, Reasoning, Self-Motivated Activity, Capacity to Communicate, and the Presence of Self-Concepts. It is not immoral to obtain an abortion at any time during pregnancy for whatever reason, no matter whether it is indecent. How:
