FPST 4143 - Fall 2011 Instructor: Dr. Qingsheng Wang Office: 494 Cordell South Phone: 744-5508 Email: qingsheng.wang@okstate.edu Lecture Hours: MWF 10:30-11:20 AM Lecture Room: EN 514 Office Hours: Friday, 8:00-10:00 AM; and other time by appointment or “walk in” COURSE OBJECTIVES Industrial ventilation and smoke control as related to the need of industrial hygiene engineers and fire protection engineers, including principles of air physics, dilution ventilation, hood and fan design for local exhaust systems, HVAC, fire dynamics, smoke tenability, smoke movement, and smoke control management. At the conclusion of the course you should be able to apply the knowledge to solve industrial ventilation and smoke control problems. The course will help you to design simple industrial ventilation systems using spreadsheet and will also help you to analyze smoke control systems using computer network model CONTAMW. PREREQUISITES
