ROLE-PLAYING SCRIPT 2 Role-Playing Script Inappropriately talking during work time, quiet reading time, or during teacher lectures is a problem in every classroom and in every age group. But it is not supposed to happen every day by the same student; this would be a serious problem of excessive talking. The disruptive behavior I will displaying in this script is, one student excessively talking in class. Teacher: Rebecca, please stop talking and finish your class work. Now is not the time for you to be talking, save the conversation for lunch. Steve (another student): Mrs. Tweedy, Rebecca is always talking while we are supposed to be doing class work, and it’s distracting me. I have a hard time concentrating because she is ALWAYS talking and never working. Rebecca: I wasn’t talking and I don’t always talk during class work time! Teacher: Rebecca, yes you were talking, I heard you with my own ears. It has become a serious problem. Please stop talking and finish your class work. Before you go to lunch please stay behind so that I am able to speak with you for a moment. Rebecca: Ugh, okay, Mrs. Tweedy. Teacher: Thank you. Later that afternoon…… Rebecca: You wanted to see me. Teacher: Yes, Rebecca, I did. I have been reprimanding you practically all year for talking with your friends at inappropriate times. No matter what punishment I have given you, your talking has continued. The next step for me to take is a phone call to your parents. Maybe your Mother or Father can help me with this situation, because it has gotten out of hand. It is
