COGN 21 Stacey Yip Section A01 1/18/11 Juno : Implicit Meaning of Autumn In the movie Juno , directed by Jason Reitman, the movie0 is split into four main sections conveniently titled by the seasons: autumn, winter, spring, and summer. During the season of autumn, the main character, Juno, is preparing to undergo a drastic change – pregnancy. The autumn season is characterized by the change in the coloring of the leaves, as well as the foreshadowing of the winter that is coming. In the same way, Juno is undergoing a change as she learns of her pregnancy and the consequences she must face because of it. This includes the inner struggle she faces as she decides whether to abort her baby or not, the change in her relationship with the baby’s father, as well as the confrontation she must face in telling her parents.
